The Science Of Weight Loss And My Six Week New Weight Loss Challenge

"Science Of Weight Loss"Because it is summer time the British television on offer is rather limited so you end up with documentary after documentary and end up watching them when you have a spare minute or two.

I have also re-read the Paul Mckenna Hypnotic Gastric Band again and he always makes me laugh with his opinions on all the various diet clubs and how they make their money off our misery.

And through these television shows and with Paul Mckenna you realise that there is one simple discovery that we have in fact know about for years. And that is that the only reason you lose any weight with any of these diets is through two things:

  • Burning more calories through exercise
  • Consuming less calories

And you can think of endless big name diets that follow one or both of these rules. They just do it with their own twist and make it sound like something amazing and different. When in fact it is often the same old system just told in a different way.

I have always been interested in the science behind weight loss and all these myths that float around such as cutting down on carbs and eating protein more frequently.

So I have decided to do an experiment of my own. I am now six months into my weight loss and I want to see what diets have the best success for me. I have always wanted to try a few other ones and see how it works and how easy they are to follow without wanting to cheat. And can you really lose 10 pounds in a week by following the Cabbage Soup Diet?

And at the same time as balancing it out with exercise.

I am kick starting it next week by counting my calories and seeing exactly how many I am actually eating. We all say that we eat about 1200-1500 a day when we are on a diet plus exercise – but do we really?

And how much are you burning through exercise? Is it enough or could you do better?

So I hope you enjoy following my six week weight loss challenge and we can then discover what is really involved and whether any of them are any good!
